At times we get asked if our star maps are accurate; we understand as a personalised gift how important it is to be authentic and personal to you. Therefore we wrote this blog post to tell you all about the process used to form our star maps. It is as important to us as it is to you that your special personalised gift is authentic and perfect!
How star maps are made
We use astronomically verified data from Astronomical databases including the European Space Agencies database of stars. Using this data, we use a very sophisticated computer programme to calculate the data of the sky at a certain date and time. This way we can ensure that all of our star maps are incredibly detailed and accurate. Because the stars are constantly moving at a consistent rate constantly. Our programme can even calculate the night sky for a future date. So any upcoming events such as birthdays, weddings or dates unique to you can be fixed in time forever with a map of the Stars!
If you’re still unsure don’t just take our word for it. We recommend trying out a virtual interactive star map such as the one by Sky and Telescope
It is important to remember that we do use a default time of 1am to calculate the star data for all our maps, but if you have a special mind in time please don’t hesitate to input it in the star map builder.
If you are struggling with any of the process our staff are always more than happy to help. We can also make custom orders if you want to add your own unique touch to our product.
