Thinking about ordering adhesive strips for your star map? This post will give all the information you will need. It will explain what they are, how they work and why they make hanging your frames so much easier!
Adhesive strips are the latest way for framing, no more hammering nails or drilling holes into the walls and leaving those horrid marks. The brand that we supply are 3M command strips. All strips are made to measure so they will fit your framed print, or poster perfectly.
Depending on the size of frame or print that has been ordered will determine the amount of adhesive strips needed to be supplied with the order. The smaller frames only need two pairs to be effective whereas the larger frames are supplied with four pairs, and our largest frame is supplied with six pairs.
Firstly prepare the surface that you are placing your star map on, it is highly recommended to wipe with water or rubbing alcohol before application but ensure the area has dried. Two pieces snap together with the interlocking bristles, when put together you will hear a clicking sound.
One side of the pair attaches to the frame where the other attaches to the wall.
When placing on the wall you want to firmly press down on the frame for 20-30 seconds to ensure contact.
To ensure the strips are long lasting remove the frame from the wall by pulling from the bottom and not straight towards you. Press firmly down on the strips still attached to the wall for another 20-30 seconds before leaving for an hour and replacing the frame back onto the wall with a click.
On removal or repositioning pull down on the circular tab downwards to prevent wall damage.
