The Sun Print | 10 May 2024
NASA's Solar Dynamics Observatory took this view of the Sun on 10 May 2024. That day a huge group of sunspots threw out a series of solar storms, and that night the Northern Lights were seen right across the UK, as far south as Cornwall. This view shows the Sun in ultraviolet light, which is why it glows red and orange. Image digitally remastered and optimised for print. The highest fine art Giclée printing, on archival satin 285gsm premium paper. Image credit: Courtesy of NASA/SDO and the AIA, EVE, and HMI science teams.
